Leading Up to the Surgery
You will have to make a few small lifestyle changes to prepare yourself for the surgery for 3–4 weeks before the scheduled date.
You will need to avoid alcohol, smoking, and caffeine, or at least reduce your intake as much as possible, as all these substances can affect the healing process and can make the surgery less effective. Another thing to avoid would be any blood thinners, either prescribed medication, over-the-counter drugs like Aspirin, or plant-based like garlic, ginseng, and ginger.
For the last 2–3 weeks before the surgery, don’t engage in any overly strenuous activities and vigorous exercise or sexual intercourse.
